Announcing the Safer Streets Fund

The aim of the Safer Streets Fund is to stop offenses that blight communities and cause untold suffering to victims from happening in the first place.

Grants of up to £550,000, have been awarded following a bidding process and will be provided to PCCs in England and Wales for projects to improve security in areas particularly affected by acquisitive crimes such as burglary, vehicle theft and robbery. Lincolnshire has been awarded £250,780.

No one should feel afraid while walking the streets, yet for so many people, particularly women and girls, a background hum of feeling uncomfortable or even unsafe in public spaces has become an all too common occurrence.

We want the Safer Streets Fund to help the police and local councils ensure that our streets are safe for everyone.
