JDRF Reception: Victoria Atkins and Kody Moore

Victoria Atkins joined a number of colleagues, including Home Secretary Theresa May, at a recent event in the Houses of Parliament celebrating recent success in type 1 diabetes research.

She also welcomed constituent Kody Moore, and his parents Liam and Verity, to the event.

The event, called #Type1Catalyst, was held by the type 1 diabetes charity JDRF, and saw leading figures in medical research and Members of Parliament join families with a connection to type 1 diabetes.

Victoria said,

“The highlight of my last few weeks in Westminster has undoubtedly been welcoming my constituent Kody, aged 8, and his parents, Liam and Verity, to the Palace of Westminster to a reception on the treatment of children with Type-1 Diabetes.

I was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 3 and so I was delighted to show my support.

I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Kody and his family and I look forward to my visit to Kody’s school in the coming term.”
