Victoria was pleased to visit Halton Holegate C of E Primary School recently, following letters written to her by students in years.
Speaking about the day, Ms Atkins said:
“I was very impressed to receive some really well written letters from students at Halton Holegate C of E Primary just before Christmas about funding for Lincolnshire Centre for Grief and Loss, as well as an invitation from the school to visit.
It was a real privilege to be shown around the school by two wonderful young students, Ruby and Robin, as well as to sit down with some of the years 5 and 6 students. As well as discussing the issues of their letters and taking questions about the role of an MP, I was pleased to have the chance to discuss with young people the proposals to restrict access to social media for under 16s.
The students were very keen to contribute their thoughts and opinions about the ban, which the Leader of the Opposition has been pushing on. As well as whether we should ban access, I was pleased to get some excellent suggestions about how this ban could be managed.”
