I am aware of the news this morning that Spilsby Surgery is currently closed.
I am in urgent contact with Lincolnshire ICB and NHS England about the need for this matter to be resolved as soon as possible. Patients are without care and access to prescriptions, so the surgery services are needed as a matter of urgency.
When I have any updated, I will share these with constituents.
You can read Lincolnshire ICB's statement on this below:
Important information for patients registered with Spilsby Surgery
With immediate effect, the current GP partners at Spilsby Surgery are no longer providing care to patients, and the current surgery building is temporarily closed. Services will continue and care is now being provided by Lincolnshire and District Medical Services (LADMS) on a temporary basis, appointed by NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board (ICB). You do not need to register with another GP practice. You remain an NHS patient, and your medical records are safe.
What should patients do?
If you already have an appointment booked, this will be rescheduled. Please wait to be contacted with updated details.
If you have an urgent health need call NHS 111 or visit www.111.nhs.uk for advice or dial 999 in an emergency. Local pharmacies can also help with minor illnesses.
If you are due to run out of medication, use the NHS App to order and nominate a pharmacy for collection. Alternatively, please call NHS 111 to order an emergency supply.
Why has this change happened?
The GP partners at Spilsby Surgery had their Care Quality Commission (CQC) registration removed. CQC registration is a legal requirement for providing GP services.
NHS Lincolnshire ICB has appointed LADMS to ensure patients continue to receive safe, high-quality care.
We understand this may feel unsettling, but please be assured your care will continue, your records are secure, and you will be kept fully informed about next steps.
Further information will be provided in due course.
