Floodwater

As we mark the one year anniversary of Storm Babet my thoughts are with the families whose homes were flooded and who have lost precious, irreplaceable possessions, and the many local businesses and farms which sustained devastating damage.

I am continuing to campaign for additional measures to be considered which could help protect Horncastle and surrounding villages from flooding in the future. This includes maintaining watercourses and joining constituents in their calls for both the government and the Environment Agency to investigate the option of a secondary flood alleviation scheme for the River Waring. I am also calling on the government to stop dithering and delaying the flood payments that are due to our affected farmers.
