Bird Flu info

My office is being regularly updated by Lincolnshire County Council about the outbreak of Avian Flu in Lincolnshire.

Officers from Lincolnshire Trading Standards are continuing to visit properties in the affected areas to establish where birds are being kept locally and to advise keepers on biosecurity to help eradicate the disease.

It is currently a legal requirement to keep your birds in doors to prevent the disease from spreading further.

If you suspect any type of avian flu in poultry or captive birds, you should report it immediately by calling the Defra Rural Services Helpline on 03000 200 301.

Further information can be found at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/avian-influenza-bird-flu

If you have been affected by this outbreak and wish to raise any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
